Leanne is a lawyer specialising in compensation law and has had the privilege of acting on behalf of thousands of injured people in a career spanning over 20 years.
Leanne has bought her experience to Kennedy Spanner Lawyers to assist our team with compensation law matters including workers’ compensation, public liability, motor vehicle accidents, and medical negligence. Her speciality area is in abuse law having represented hundreds of survivors of sexual abuse. She focuses on managing her clients in a trauma informed way to help them through the civil process. She has led reform to improve the civil process for victim survivors and is regularly called on to provide submissions to government. Leanne Chairs the Queensland and National Abuse Law Special Interest Group for the Australian Lawyers Alliance.
One of Leanne’s career highlights includes being part of the legal team who fought to find out the truth about the murder of Annette Mason, which resulted in her being the recipient of the Australian Lawyers Alliance 2019 Queensland Civil Justice Award.
She is a member of Australian Lawyers Alliance (Regional Committee member), Women Lawyers Association of Queensland (Vice President – Events) and American Association for Justice. She is Chair Elect of the Child Protection Practitioners Association of Queensland. She is also a member of the Resolution Institute.

Leanne was a finalist in the Australian Law Awards Special Counsel of the Year for 2019 and a finalist in the Women in Law Awards 2019 Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year.
