Catherine Cheek

Special Counsel and Queensland Law Society Accredited Specialist

Catherine is dedicated to assisting people through some of the most difficult times of their lives by providing understanding and empathetic legal representation.

Since completing her studies at University of Queensland and being admitted in 1991, Catherine has actively campaigned for the individual’s rights, particularly in the medical law and elder abuse areas, and has been involved in a number of significant and difficult cases, including cases that have changed law in Queensland. She is an Accredited Personal Injuries Specialist.

As an Accredited Specialist and with over 30 years’ experience in acting for and lobbying governments on behalf of injured and elderly people, her goal is to make her clients feel supported throughout litigation. She believes in standing up for those who are suffering, taking great pride in achieving fair outcomes for her clients and ensuring that all individuals have access to justice and quality legal representation.

She is also a strong supporter of her local community and was actively involved through her volunteer work at the Homeless Persons’ Legal Clinic for 10 years.

Outside of work Catherine enjoys spending time with her family, her dogs and granddogs, running (she is a Parkrun devotee), bushwalking, acting and reading. She’s also a qualified speech and drama teacher.
